We are so excited that our best-selling Mom Bod Postnatal Multivitamin is finally back in stock after nearly 2 months of being sold out. Momful Moms and waitlist members will soon begin receiving their coveted Mom Bod postnatal multi, specifically formulated for their unique needs as both a postpartum and breastfeeding mom.
What’s new?
We updated Mom Bod’s formula to represent the latest findings in breastfeeding and postpartum research and to include input from breastfeeding experts about how to make our postnatal multivitamin the most powerful formula available to breastfeeding moms.
More Bioavailable:
Methylated folate instead of folic acid:
Folate is the naturally occurring and metabolically active form of vitamin B9 whereas Folic Acid is the synthetic form found commonly in multivitamins. Your body has to convert folic acid into folate in order to use it but up to 60% of people may have a common genetic mutation called MTHFR which can effect the body’s ability to convert folic acid into folate (1). Folic Acid is the top choice for many multivitamin brands because it is more affordable. We’re proud to offer methylated folate in Mom Bod to ensure that moms are getting the highest quality ingredients for them and their babes.
D3 instead of D2:
Research suggests that Vitamin D3 is better than Vitamin D2 at improving Vitamin D status. The liver metabolizes both D3 and D2 into calcifediol, but studies show that a dose of Vitamin D3 would produce higher blood levels of calcifediol than an equivalent dose of D2. Most vitamin brands use D2 because it is more affordable even though these supplements may be more likely to degrade over time due to humidity and temperature sensitivity. Mom Bod’s Vitamin D3 is high quality and from a vegetarian-friendly source.
More of What Matters:
You’re getting exactly what you need and nothing you don’t. We’ve dialed up the most important ingredients in Mom Bod’s formula and reduced or removed others that aren’t necessary.
- Choline: Empowers infant brain development and supports mom’s immune system.
- More vitamin D: Supports maternal mood, bones, and immune function. Equally as important for your baby, maternal vitamin D supplementation can prevent need for infant vitamin D supplementation. Good bye baby vitamin D drops!
- More iodine: Important for maternal metabolism and thyroid hormone support, critical for infant growth and neurological development.
- Magnesium: Supports maternal mood, energy and bone health, key nutrient for infant cell growth and muscle development.
Vegetarian:
Vegetarian D3:
We’ve selected Cholecalciferol for our Vitamin D3 source specifically because it is suitable for vegetarians. Cholecalciferol is made from a substance derived from sheep’s wool.
Vegetarian Capsule:
We switched from a gelatin capsule to a veggie capsule made of hypromellose. It is commonly found as an option instead of a gelatin capsule because of its vegetarian source.
Free of Synthetic Excipients:
An excipient makes Mom Bod easier to consume so your body can use its ingredients comfortable and safely. The excipient also makes sure it is produced with consistency and quality. Many brands use excipients that are made from synthetic materials but we have selected a higher quality excipient that is made from organic rice hulls.
